Above you shall find some clips of Yeasayer on Jools Holland last week, performing 2080 and Sunrise, respectively. Their ‘All Hour Cymbals’ album is a funny one – when it’s good, it’s fucking brilliant but it has a tendency to meander into prog-rock territories on occasion. It also, for some reason, at moments, reminds me of Duran Duran. No idea why and not necessarily a bad thing. It’s interesting to see them perform, however because they’re not how I imagined them to be. The lead singer seems slightly unhinged and they all look like they’re from different bands. I also like the costume change between songs. Nice touch – you don’t see that often on telly programmes. It looks like they’ll be well worth checking out in Whelans on the 14th of May.
