Ariel Pink – Politely Declined

Yes, he’s a bizarre man and this is an utterly bizarre song. When I saw Ariel Pink in The Boom Boom Room last year, he spent most of the gig wandering aimlessly around the stage, starting songs and then stopping halfway through, pressing Eject on his 4-track tape recorder and chucking the backing tape to one side. Occasionally, he would randomly drape his fingers over his keyboard to see what noise would come out. 

And while, he has certainly been the composer of some bad music, he does also come out with some fried pop gems and this is one of them.

I particularly like the bit where he gets caught behind some fluffy toys and has a sniff of them.
