There’s an interesting article here:
http://www.independent.ie/entertainment/music/the-immediate-end-of-days-1215884.html detailing the break-up of The Immediate by the band’s ever-friendly keyboardist/bassist Barra Heavey. It’s an insightful take on what it must have felt to be in a band that seemed to be on the rise only for it to suddenly shatter without any forewarning. I still think it’s a real shame that The Immediate never got to make any more records – ‘In Towers and Clouds’ is a great debut album, one of the few Irish debuts with real ambition. But like for so many bands, the realities of life seems to have got in the way of being musicians. Check out the video on top as well of the boys in happier times singing ‘Aspects’ & ‘Stop & Remember’.
