Celebration – Evergreen

20 11 2007

I’m quite a fan of Siouxsie & The Banshees. They’re a band that made a series of brilliant ever-evolving albums – lazily lumped in with the Goth bands of the Eighties when they were so much more. The reason I mention them is that I’ve recently come across a band from Baltimore called Celebration and their new, second album, ‘The Modern Tribe’. I had heard their first self-titled album a while ago but it did little for me. The new one, however, is really good despite it’s obvious Siouxsie & The Banshees influence. But singer, Katrina Ford has a divine voice and their music is more theatrical and ethereal than The Banshees.

I’ve included the video for album highlight, ‘Evergreen’ above and a token Banshees’ video, ‘Spellbound’, for your viewing pleasure
